Several online friends were raving about Sinners, so I finally went to see it - the film lives up to their enthusiasm, and I hope it gets some award consideration at least for its soundtrack (music's vital to the plot, and a great deal of thought and care clearly went into using the soundtrack to help tell the story.) And if you see it in a place where you can order a full meal... do as I did, and eat the garlic. |

I watched Gregory's Girl yesterday. A low-key, coming-of-age romcom directed by Bill Forsyth. The plot is a bit vague but I enjoyed the subtle sense of humour just like Local Hero (one of my favourite films of all time).
It was also nice to see young Jake D'Arcy as a football coach. A great contrast to his later role "Pete the Jakey" in a sitcom Still Game. _________________ My resume is dull and it's gray |

If you enjoyed Gregorys Girl Kaelmael, you should look out for That Sinking Feeling which l think was Bill Forsyth's first film..... it has many of the same cast members and is a really enjoyable watch.
I watched The Damned at the weekend.... I was a bit underwhelmed but l think that's because it was so dark (intentionally and literally) that l couldn't always see what was going on! |

Thanks for your recommendation! I like his filming style. I'll make sure to check that out. _________________ My resume is dull and it's gray |

I’ve heard about Gregory’s Girl but never got around to watching it—sounds like I’ve been missing out. I’ll definitely check out That Sinking Feeling too; I love when directors reuse cast members across films.

Gregory's girl a great film to watch, also another film Gregory's 2 girls, not as good as the first. |

Slade in Flames 50th Anniversary
Seems to be getting some traction at the moment .
There is a free stream of it on YT presently.
The bit where they sail to the Pirate Radio studio
looks like an idea triggered by the Propaganda art work was my first thought. _________________ I Think that went very Well |

@Crabby
That Sinking Feeling was very funny. As you said, most of the boys from Gregory's Girl were there. Charming film!
Bullet Train Explosion on Netflix was a good watch. It's a sequel to 1975 film The Bullet Train (starring Ken Takakura). Compared to the original, which is more focused on drama, this is merely a moderate disaster movie and some parts are not so convincing, but still as suspenseful as the first one and quite entertaining. I think it's a success for a sequel. _________________ My resume is dull and it's gray |

Glad you enjoyed it KaelMael, l might revisit it myself to see if l still enjoy it. Of late l have been rewatching old favourites and it's interesting how some films have lost their appeal over the years.....
Others (a select few) never pale....there are some films l could watch on a loop! |
